Following the success of the inaugural Sydney Astrofest last year CAASTRO is delighted to again host Sydney Astrofest 2017. Together with other Australian research organisations, science outreach initiatives, astronomy societies and many others, we have designed an exciting program for an entire evening of FREE indoor and outdoor entertainment, suitable for all the family:
- night-sky telescope viewing,
- awesome astronomy talks - including an interactive Q&A session just for children
- planetarium show - several sessions of Capturing the Cosmos,
- expert interactive activities and demonstrations, and
- prizes to win
CAASTRO is proud to be hosting this event at the University of Sydney. Our talented group of PhD students, researchers and educators will be running a number of booths at Syd Astrofest17 offering interactive demonstrations and activities that will inspire all the family. CAASTRO is the Australian Research Centre for All-sky Astrophysics - a collaboration between the University of Sydney, the University of Western Australia, the Australian National University, the University of Melbourne, Swinburne University, Curtin University and the University of Queensland (2011-2018).

There will be two Registration Desks at the venue - Charles Perkins Centre and the Veterinary Science Centre. Please visit the venue map for directions.
The draw will be held of Monday 3rd July 2017 and the winner will be notified by email and/or telephone. The winner will also be announced on this website by COB 3rd July 2017.
A second name will also be drawn to win a Night Tour at the Sydney Observatory (Family Pass) - thanks to the Museum of Applied Arts & Science).
